What Cambridge
means at SBP

SBP is a registered Cambridge International School. Students follow the Cambridge curriculum in English from Primary 1, sit Cambridge Checkpoint tests along the way, and finish with IGCSE and then AS and A Level.

Because every stage belongs to the same framework, a child does not change systems between Primary, Secondary and Junior College. Teachers in each year build on what students learned the year before. Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia and the national curriculum subjects are taught alongside the Cambridge subjects.

Assessment

How progress
is measured

Parents can follow their child’s progress at every stage through three kinds of assessment.

1

In the classroom

Teachers check understanding in every unit and report to parents each term.

2

Cambridge Checkpoint

Tests set and marked by Cambridge at the end of Primary and Lower Secondary. They show strengths and gaps before IGCSE begins.

3

Cambridge examinations

IGCSE is graded A* to G. AS and A Level are graded A* to E. Cambridge sets and marks the papers.
